Philly Mag – How Jon Runyan Became “Philly’s Most Popular Pitchman”

“In the insular world of Philadelphia sports teams, sports bars, sports radio and sports-obsessed advertisers, no one stands taller that Eagles tackle Jon Runyan. And it’s all thanks to a bald-headed guy with a BlackBerry,” wrote Don Steinberg in Philadelphia Magazine. Watch a video of Runyan discussing his work with Kaplan.

    Score for the Cure

Whether it’s 18 holes at a top-notch country club or a mini-golf challenge in Center City, if it benefits charity then Jon Runyan is likely to give it a shot. Beginning in 2005, the “Score for the Cure” celebrity golf outing was an annual fundraiser in support of prostate cancer research. The Vanimal, Vance Worley

A rookie phenom, Vance Worley put together a fantastic 2011 season. All the talk was on the Four Aces, but when the fifth starter, Joe Blanton, and ace Roy Oswalt sustained injury, Worley was penciled in to the starting rotation. He excelled beyond expectations, creating a devoted fanbase aptly named the Vanimals. This presented an opportunity for publicity. We capitalized, arranging an autograph signing of Vance Worley at Forman Mills in South Philly. Like many events showcasing pro athletes in [...]

    Free Beer For Life

Everybody loves free stuff. And most who’ve been to Chickie’s and Pete’s love Crabfries, especially with a tall, cold one. So what better than FREE Crabfries? That was the thinking of Hashtag Multimedia President Craig Kaplan and collaborator Steve Martorano, as the iconic Philly sports-bar (and ESPN’s “Best Sports Bar in North America”) neared its five millionth order of Crabfries sold. Not just free Crabfries, but free Crabfries and Budweiser for life to the five millionth customer. That sounds like [...]

Meet the Blockers – a Lineman’s Life Aint Easy

Many kids dream of being a pro football player when they grow up. But how many yearn to play as an offensive lineman? It’s certainly not like being a wide receiver or running back or quarterback, who receive the bulk of the attention after a win. Only when something goes wrong — a penalty, a sack, a missed block — is the o-line mentioned. Eagles Pro Bowl tackle Jon Runyan agrees. During the Eagles’ Super Bowl run in 2005, he [...]
