Having promoted charitable events for over 20 years, Hashtag Multimedia President Craig Kaplan has helped raise millions of dollars for research, medical aid, community programs and relief efforts. It all began with a Philadelphia Eagles football player who wanted to promote leadership programs for at-risk youth, and expanded to fund-raising events for national organizations.

Support of Variety, the Children’s Charity, goes back to 1998 when we aligned their first celebrity spokesman, Irving Fryar. The charity then expanded in 2000 with Jon Runyan’s involvement. We also have provided celebrity bartenders to help raise money for the charity. Kaplan has since secured various celebrity spokespersons for the charity – last year we created a celebrity bowling event hosted by World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Ryan Madson. The success of this fundraising was due in part to our dedication to every facet of the event—from conception to sponsorship sales to promotion.

Kaplan has also orchestrated six celebrity golf outings for former Eagle and current U.S. Congressman Jon Runyan. The event has raised over five hundred thousand dollars for his Score for the Cure to benefit Prostate Cancer Research at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Since that time, Kaplan has worked with Alex’s Lemonade Stand to align celebrities with various aspects of the organization’s fundraising, such as celebrity-hosted Grand Stands and appearances at the Lemon Ball. A recent collaborative event involved Alex’s Lemonade Stand in tandem with the Vetri Foundation. The Great Chef’s Event is an annual fundraising event that started in 2006 with some of this country’s greatest chefs coming together to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. We produced event graphics and provided video coverage of the event.

The charitable events we organize are designed to bring maximum exposure with minimal expense to non-profits that work towards improving the quality of life for those in need. We applaud all the volunteers whose special contributions make these events possible.
